Description: |
The key project objectives is to implement the Low Impact Development Design for the Beaverton Fire Hall. The goals of this project is to redirect rooftop and parking lot stormwater into multiple infiltration facilities (bioswale, bioretention planter, and rainwater harvesting tank). A significant portion of the eastern rooftop stormwater will be collected by the storage tank, which will be used for truck washing throughout the warmer months. Currently all the stormwater enters multiple catch basins and is directed into the Beaver River. The Town of Beaverton is in Brock Township, along the Eastern shore of Lake Simcoe and is part of the Beaver River Subwatershed. The plan for this area was to create low impact development opportunities within the footprint of the Beaverton Fire Hall. These low impact development features focus on enhancing the existing stormwater management, by improving the quantity and quality of the runoff entering the Beaver River. |
